Before submitting a planning application, please contact us to discuss your new project. Once we have a better idea of your project, we may recommend a "Preliminary Meeting" so that we can take an initial look at your plans, explain the process and identify any concerns that might need to be addressed. This meeting is optional, although we recommend it!
Once the (optional) Preliminary Meeting is done, we may direct you to submit your planning application.
To request a preliminary meeting, please email the Planner at the contact information below, with some details of your proposal.
In many cases, however, your application will need to be looked at and approved by the Municipality and other governments and agencies.
To save you time, we bring together a group of experts -- the Development Application Review Team (DART) -- to meet with you before you formally submit an application.
The purpose of the DART meeting is to:
- Confirm what approvals are needed;
- Identify any drawings, studies or reports that are needed;
- Review any policies that apply to the site;
- Preview expected timelines;
- Look at any relevant Council decisions; and
- Flag any potential areas of concern.
Please fill in the planning pre-application consultation form.
