IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE CANADA EMERGENCY RESPONSE BENEFIT (CERB)

The CERB will be available to workers:
- Residing in Canada, who are at least 15 years old;
- Who have stopped working because of COVID-19 or are eligible for Employment Insurance regular or sickness benefits;
- Who had income of at least $5,000 in 2019 or in the 12 months prior to the date of their application; and
- Who are or expect to be without employment or self-employment income for at least 14 consecutive days in the initial four-week period.

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is requesting individuals filing for the CERB program to file based according to their Birth month.

This will NOT change how much fiscal aid you will receive. Nor will it change how fast you will receive these funds.

If you have applied for EI already- ⛔️Do not apply for CERB.

✅ CERB payments to EI applicants will start this week.

Once the CERB portal is active, this will be the fastest and easiest way for you to apply for the benefits you might need.

Although the new on-line application system for the CERB will not be available until April 6, you should take this time now to set up your secure CRA MyAccount access.
