Weekend Winter Patroller/Operator

• The West Elgin Public Works department requires a part time winter patroller/operator to assist with routine and emergency winter maintenance activities within the municipality.
• The successful candidate will be required to work alternating weekends beginning late November and ending late March. Duties will include weather monitoring and completion of four road patrols, scheduled for 5 am and 5 pm, Saturday and Sunday. The Supervisor may adjust start/end date and patrol times as required.
• During extreme weather events or in cases of sickness or absence, the part time patroller/operator may be called upon to assist in carrying out winter maintenance operations.
• Preference will be given to those candidates who hold a valid DZ licence (minimum) with clean abstract.
• Experience with snow removal equipment will be considered a major asset.
• All applicants chosen for an interview may be required to demonstrate their ability to operate using municipal equipment.
