Weekday Winter Patroller/Operator

• The West Elgin Public Works department requires a part time winter patroller/operator to assist with routine and emergency winter maintenance activities within the municipality.
• The successful candidate will be required to work weekday mornings beginning November 30 and ending on or about March 19. Duties will include weather monitoring and completion of road patrols scheduled for 4 am Monday to Friday. The Supervisor may adjust start/end date and patrol times as required.
• During extreme weather events or in cases of sickness or absence, the part time patroller/operator may be called upon to assist in carrying out winter maintenance operations.
• Preference will be given to those candidates who hold a valid DZ licence (minimum) with clean abstract.
• Experience with snow removal equipment will be considered a major asset.
• All applicants chosen for an interview may be required to demonstrate their ability to operate using municipal equipment.
