2021 Grass Fire Reminder

A reminder from the West Elgin Fire Department.....

.....for residents to be cautious when conducting open burning. Despite some recent rains conditions are still dry for April and there have been several grass fires recently, which can spread quickly to nearby buildings and trees.

All open burns must abide by the conditions listed on the burn permit, and permits are available through the Municipal website at no charge.

Furnival Road Construction Closure

Furnvial Road Closed to Through Traffic Starting Monday April 5

Starting on Monday, April 5th, Furnival Road will officially be closed to through traffic for the duration of Phase 2 of the County of Elgin Rodney Reconstruction, from the southerly phase limits to Moriah Street. Notice to Water Customers

Flushing of all fire hydrants has been scheduled in the Municipality from Monday April 5, 2021 to Friday April 16, 2021 for hydrant maintenance purposes.  Please note you may experience discolouration in the water.  If you do please run water for several minutes until the water clears.  There may also be a slight decrease in water pressure.  We apologize for any inconvenience.
